TPAssist 2007's publish to Microsoft® Excel® and Microsoft Project capability are multi-map
enabled, allowing you to managing complex projects over multiple maps and produce consolidate
Work breakdowns, project schedules and other reports.
To illustrate the multi-map capability, lets create a new map with two topics and create hyperlinks
at those topics to maps created created in previous modules:
Before we start, we need to roll-up task information from our two sub-maps.
1) Choose "Tree Update" from the TPAssist Ribbon (In MindManager 6, open the TPAssist Console
from the Export toolbar and switch to the Tree Update tab).
2) In the Tree Update tab, turn on "Multimaps" and click Ok:
3) Now select the central topic, and then on the TPAssist Ribbon, choose "Publish" (In
MindManager 6, open the TPAssist Console from the Export Toolbar and change to the Publish
tab).
4) In the Publish tab, turn on Multimap (i.e. "YES"), turn on "Single WSB Mode", change "Task
details to Level" "2" and then click Ok.
Now switch to Excel (it may have been hidden from view).
You will notice that TPAssist has created a single Excel based report and consolidated the
portfolio of projects into one view:
Next, we will publish the portfolio to Microsoft Project.
5) Close Excel and switch back to MindManager, now click the Publish command in the TPAssist
Ribbon (In MindManager 6, load the TPAssist Console from the Export toolbar and change to the
Publish Tab).
3) Change the "Tools" to "Microsoft Project" and click Ok.
TPAssist will now open Microsoft Project and create a consolidated Gantt chart:
